They are free, are of a short duration so that they can be enjoyed on your lunch break if you work downtown, and there is a wonderful variety of performances! There are both instrumental and vocal presentations with varied instruments and singers. Instruments have included organ, piano, guitar, viola da gambas, electric bass, and flute. There have been soloists, duos, trios, quartets, and small choral groups. Musical selections include Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and Contemporary, as well as music from 19th century America (the Hutchinson Family Revival), so there is sure to be something that appeals to everyone! This series is a wonderful way to take a break in the middle of your work day, and you can stay for all or part, as your schedule allows. There are occasional Fridays when no recital is scheduled (for example, the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve), so be sure to check the schedule on the website (musicatstpauls.com) or in Gusto.
